The Difference in Daycare Centers
Sending your child to daycare is a major decision. To select the daycare option that will provide a healthy and stimulating environment for your child, you need to aware of the different types. Daycare facilities usually operate for the entire day. There are two major types of daycare centers:
Licensed by the state, these centers are run the way schools are, with children of different ages looked after in groups. This option is best if you want your child to interact with others, begin a stimulating learning experience, and have a more structured environment. There is a greater chance the staff has training in first aid and child safety.
With this type of center, the children are cared for in the home of the provider. Use discretion if you opt for this type of daycare these providers. They may or may not have state licenses or offer educational activities.
What Questions Do You Need to Ask the Center?
Find out if the daycare providers are accredited. Of course, accreditation doesn’t necessarily mean your child will automatically receive the attention of a trained caregiver, but it is more likely. Facilities with state licenses have met the government’s safety and health standards,
You should also know how many children the center looks after. Young babies need plenty of attention, so ensure the center has limited the number of babies per group.
Ask about the types of activities, both educational and physical. This will help you determine if your child will be prepared as they move forward.
Check out the menu to be sure it is healthy and protects children from potential allergies.
Review the center’s policies to assure it works well with your lifestyle.
You should be in sync with the facility’s philosophy on child care. Ask what their policies are on topics like feeding, soothing, discipline, and education.
Also, make sure the caregivers are certified first aid and CPR practitioners.
By choosing the right caregiver, you ensure your child will flourish into a happy and healthy child.
