PROGRAM PHILOSPHY

It is our belief that children learn best when they are provided with a safe, secure, nurturing, and an enriched learning environment. Our Daycare Center is committed to providing high quality, dependable, and developmentally appropriate care for children ages birth-12 years old.

Our loving staff members will foster each child’s independence with knowledge and self confidence that will enable them to succeed in the years beyond our program.

To promote and encourage learning, caregivers will engage children in age-appropriate hands-on activities where they will be able to explore and learn from their surroundings. Through creative play, positive adult interactions, and parent collaboration, we will nurture each child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual well-being.

CHRISTIAN CURRICULUM

As a Christian facility, our curriculum is God-centered. Using bible songs,  prayers, and stories we teach our children about God’s love.

PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM

Our extensive hands-on preschool curriculum begins in our one-year-old classroom, and each program builds on to the next. In our preschool programs, we use a variety of different curriculum approaches. This includes Creative Curriculum, Abeka Book, bible, sign language, phonics, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

Secure Environment

Heaven’s Elect is a locked, secure facility. To the right of the door is an intercom bell for parents to utilize upon arrival. Our brick building features safety glass, an alarm system wired directly to the police department, 24/7 monitoring, and a burglar alarm with motion sensors.

Holidays & Closures

Heaven’s Elect will be closed in observance of the following holidays: New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Our center is open and available to care for all enrolled School Age children whenever Midland Public Schools is closed (planned and unplanned days off).

Daily Routines

We strive to provide our children with the best possible care. With that in mind, we have developed daily schedules that promote healthy growth and development for all children. A daily schedule is available on our website and posted by every classroom door.

Food Provided

Two snacks and lunch is provided daily, at no additional charge to our parents. Food served will include portions from the six basic food groups as defined by the US Department of Agriculture. Snacks and lunches are served with vitamin D or 1% milk, based on State licensing requirements

Management Team

Stephanie Beckett,
Heaven’s Elect Lead Management

Stephanie has been a part of our Heaven’s Elect family for the past 12 years and has led our management team since 2018.

The way children look at the world around them has always amazed and inspired Stephanie. Their dreams and aspirations are endless. Stephanie’s teaching style involves a balance of allowing children the freedom to make choices while keeping structure and limits. She reasons that children learn from trying things multiple times. Making mistakes allows them the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop their confidence and self-esteem. Knowing that all children develop at their own pace, it is vital to have an environment where children can learn and be guided to reach their full potential.

God has always been a massive part of her journey through life. He has paved the roads that lead her here today, and she could not be happier.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, children, and niece. Together they enjoy camping, bike riding, skiing, snowboarding, etc.

Crystal Forsberg,
Program Director

I have been a part of Heaven’s Elect management team since 2011; before that, I spent two years as a lead teacher in our toddler classroom, a year as a child caregiver in our infant room, and a year as a high school co-op student working in a home daycare. I have two Child Development Associate certificates from the Council for Professional Recognition—one in infant and toddler care and the other in preschool. I also have an associate’s degree in child development from Delta College, and I am now pursuing my bachelor’s degree in early childhood development and learning at Central Michigan University. I have worked in the childcare field for over 16 years.

I believe that children learn best when provided with a safe, secure, nurturing, and enriched learning environment. To promote and encourage learning, it is essential to engage children in age-appropriate hands-on activities where they can explore and learn from their surroundings. Through creative play, positive adult interactions, and parent collaboration, we can nurture each child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual well-being.

Besides advocating for children, my top priority as a childcare program director is teaching children about God’s love and the importance of being kind. Through my personal relationship with God, I am able to be a positive role model for the children in my care.

When I’m not working, I coach high school pom. I’ve been coaching for 15 years and enjoy working with teenagers as much as I love working with younger children. Outside of that, I also like reading books, teaching Sunday school at my church, and spending time with my spouse and our two children.
